Technical Drawing, 12:20-1:35, ages 13 & up, $68 plus $12 supply fee
Do you love to draw in a technical way? Learn the basics of drafting, creating 2D and 3D drawings in geometric construction and basic perspective. As a final project, draw a building, house, or interior technical drawing perspective colored with water colors. New and returning students welcome. Instructor: Carmen Fernandez
Uncle Tom's Cabin, 10:50, ages 13 & up, $52, BYO book
Students will study this classic by Harriet Beecher Stowe. This book was influential in stirring up strong antislavery emotions leading up to the Civil War. Special attention will be drawn to the Christian world view that was the foundation for Uncle Tom's life choices. Students will compare Uncle Tom's behavior with Martin Luther King's nonviolent protests in the twentieth century, and recognize the Christian underpinnings to the abolitionist movement of the 18th and 19th centuries. Teen Tap, 10:50, ages 12 & up, $52
If you are interested in learning an especially fun form of dance, or continuing your tap skills, this tap class is for you! You will learn many steps and will get to tap to a modern song (a song the class will vote on)! Any comfortable dance attire will do. Tap shoes can be any color and are available at Payless or any dance shop. Instructor: Deanna Irwin
Shakespeare Overview, 12:20, ages 12 & up, $52 plus $2 supply fee
Students will be introduced to nine of Shakespeare's major works, both tragedies and comedies, familiarizing students with the basic plot, main characters, and famous quotations from some of the most recognizable works in English literature. Instructor: Lisa Rathburn
Intro to Arduino, 9:50, ages 12 & up, $52 plus $7 supply fee, BYO Laptop Computer
Arduino is a tool used in making computers that interact with the real world, more than a desktop/laptop. We will work in teams and learn to program the arduino boards to make simple devices. These devices will be able to display simple outputs, such as LED lights, and receive basic inputs, such as switches. We will also learn how to communicate with a computer using an arduino board. Study French language and culture in a great group immersion setting. This course includes all the basics of language study – vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, culture, and practice. Instructor: Roseanna Ondra
Intro to Logic Gates and Electronics, 10:50, ages 12 & up, $52 + $5
Learn some of the basic concepts of electronics such as oms law, and wiring circuits in parallel and in series. Make circuits using a breadboard with LEDs, resistor, switches, capacitors, etc. We'll also go over basic logic gates such as the OR, AND, NOT, NAND, NOR and the like. The Write Shop 2, 1:45-3:30, 6th to 10th grade, $88
This class will review basics of descriptive and informative writing covered in part 1. We will then expand on those skills and cover persuasive writing and essays (descriptive, definition and timed). Prerequisite: The Write Shop 1, or IEW (contact instructor to assess). This is part one of a two part series. Students can earn ½ credit of composition for high school credit. Book is available on web site. Instructor: Debbye Rheker
Teen Ceramics, 9:50, ages 11 & up, 8 weeks, $57 plus $9 supply fee
Students in this class will be guided in developing both sculptural and functional ceramic pieces while learning about clay and handbuilding techniques. Students will be offered projects that will allow them to explore the material while developing their own "voice" to put into their pieces. Different pieces are learned each term, so new or returning students welcome. Note: No ceramics on 10/5. Instructor: Tracey Priska
Building More Structures, 12:20, ages 10-13, $52 plus $5 supply fee
Learn about building structures such as draw bridges, and then build some as a group. Use materials like dowels, pipe cleaners, and cardboard to erect smaller models of some of these structures standing in the real world. Songwriting 101, 12:20, ages 9 & up, $52, plus $2 supply fee
Have you ever heard a song and thought, ‘I wish I could write a song like that?’ Do you like to create songs already, with or without words? Come learn the basics of songwriting in this class. We will create songs of all types, learn about the basic elements that go into a good song, and create a personalized CD of YOUR own music. No music experience required! Instructor: Regina Holben

Rhythm and Beats: The Essentials, 10:50, ages 9 & up, $65
Interested in learning how to play drums or other instruments? Rhythm is key! This workshop will teach the basics in rhythm that will be applicable on any instrument. Bring the instrument of your choice and learn the roots of rhythm. Instructor: Matt Darcie
Christmas Craft Sewing, 9:50, ages 9-14, $52 plus $15 supply fee
Learn to thread a needle, tie off, and end stitches while you sew some fun Christmas gifts for others. Finish off by making projects like a pillow, stocking, and bookmark. No experience required. Instructor: Gabrielle Lucido
Cake Decorating, 10:50, ages 8 & up, 8 weeks, $46 plus $30 supply fee
Learn the basics of cake decorating, from applying icing to designing a cake. From different borders, several flowers, figure piping, & more, students will learn different techniques. Students will bring home cakes & cupcakes on specific weeks, and will display their final cake during production, before bringing it home. Note: No cake class on 9/28. Instructor: Cindy Giraud
Cake Decorating-Intermediate, 9:50, ages 8 & up, 8 weeks, $46 plus $30 supply fee
Building on the skills learned in Cake Decorating, students will learn new techniques using butter cream icing, royal icing, & fondant. Techniques include: covering a cake with fondant, fondant flowers, royal icing flowers and accents, brushed embroidery, basket weave, the rose and more. Students will bring home cakes & cupcakes on specific weeks, and will display their final cake during production before bringing it home. Prerequisite - completion of Cake Decorating or equivalent experience. Note: No cake class on 9/28. Instructor: Cindy Giraud
Advanced Cake Decorating, 12:20, ages 8 & up, $46 plus $30 supply fee
In this class the student will build on skills already taught in both Cake Decorating classes. Students will be using buttercream & royal icing as well as some fondant/gumpaste. Techniques include: string work, draping, new flowers, figure modeling & more. Students will bring home a decorated cake in the 2nd lesson, cookies midway through, and a cake at the end. On the last class, students will display their cakes during production, and bring home their beautifully decorated cake. Prerequisite: Beginner and Intermediate Cake Decorating. Creative Photography Jr, 10:50, ages 8-11, 8 weeks, $46 plus $10 supply. BYO camera
Come learn some basic camera fundamentals of composition, including rule of thirds, artistic elements of lighting and creative perspectives. It’s all about being creative. Students will learn some basic editing and be assigned a photo project per week which we will discuss as a class together. Required: Digital camera brought to class weekly, access to a computer at home, and ability to download images to the internet using Picas 3 (parental participation at home for small weekly projects). Learn to play chess, or advance your skills to compete on a next level. New and returning students welcome. Each class involves chess play with coaching by instructor, including chess tactic, the pin, the fork, and more depending on the child’s level of play. Students will learn the proper use of a chess clock and how to record a chess game. Plus intermediate students will advance to tactics such as “bughouse,” and openings. Cross Fit Kids, 9:50, ages 6-11, $52
Grow up healthy and strong with a lifelong love of working out, thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity! Children will push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely, regardless of whether or not they play athletics. During this program, the coach will educate your child on the importance of making their bodies powerful, enriching their minds, building strong character, creating rewarding experiences, and developing a sense of pride. Praise and Worship! (PAW), 10:50, ages 4 & up, $52
We are called to worship God every day of our life. A life of praise and worship fills our deepest needs, and also brings great joy to God. In this class, children will explore a variety of different ways to worship including singing, playing instruments, creative prayer, dance, scripture, and other creative expression. Cooking Art, 12:20, ages 3-8, $52 plus $10 supply fee
Based on the book ‘Cooking Art’, each week we will make a new edible art project. First the art, then the eating; no food will be wasted, from Cantaloupe Canoes to Rainbow Toast. What a great way to get that tricky eater to try something new. Students will enjoy making and devouring healthy and nutritional snacks and beverages, and learn how to recreate them at home. Tots Ballet, 1:20-1:50, ages 3-6, $65
Tots Ballet is an adorable class for young children who may or may not have experience in dance. Ballet technique is the foundation for every style of dance; jazz, modern, ballroom, and even hip-hop! Each week we'll enjoy the adventures of a classic children's book, and then enjoy activities that go along with our story. We'll play games, create art projects and explore social studies, math and science concepts from the story. Always a new subject, every term! Instructor: Amanda Gehrke
