Intro to Chemistry – High School, 12:20, grades 9th-12th, $58 plus $15 supply fee
This class is worth .5 high school science credit.  Course includes reading assignments, definitions, and questions to answer each week at home.  During class time we will go over the assignment done at home and then do a lab related to that topic.  Instructor:  Tracy Mitton

Technical Drawing, 12:20-1:35, ages 13 & up, $78 plus $14 supply fee
Do you love to draw in a technical way?  Learn the basics of drafting, creating 2D and 3D drawings in geometric construction and basic perspective.  As a final project, draw a building, house, or interior technical drawing perspective colored with water colors.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Carmen Fernandez

Theatre Teens, 12:20, ages 12 & up, $72
Come learn Scene-Study, Monologues, and Script Analysis with an amazing director, producer, actor, etc.  Act out theatre games with an emphasis on exploring an actor's approach to creating a character.  Skills studied will be used in production at the end of the course.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Gregory Trzascoma

IMPROV TEENS, 1:30-2:25, ages 12 & up, $72
Learn a more rigorous exploration of that great American theatrical tradition, Improv., Historic Overview.  Glean from games and exercises for creating comedic and dramatic characters and scripts, freeing the actor's imagination, building ensemble, and honing concentration and focus.  Skills studied will be used in production at the end of the course.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Gregory Trzascoma

Robotics, Programming, 10:50, ages 12 & up, $58 plus $10 supply fee, BYO Laptop
In this class we'll program robots to sense inputs from various types of sensors. These types of sensors include light sensors, tilt sensors, and switches. We'll also program them to control outputs such as LEDs, motors, servos, and speakers.  New and returning students welcome, we will continue learning new things each term.  Instructor:  Jared Piro

Computer Programming with Java, 1:30-2:25, ages 12 & up, $58, BYO Laptop
In this class we'll learn to write software using C and C++. These are standard languages usable on all major operating systems. We'll go over the basics for those who are entirely new, and we'll go over some of the more advanced concepts for those who are familiar with programing.  New and returning students welcome, we will continue learning new things each term.  Instructor:  Jared Piro

Wars of America, 10:50, ages 12 & up, $58
This class is to show a relevant, fascinating look at some of the monumental struggles in America's history.  How did we get involved? What was at stake? What context in history, legacy and perhaps most important, moral lessons are to be learned? This course aims to show the truth of America's overall positive contributions to World history and when things are worth fighting for.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Doug Kuhn

Great Battles in American History, 12:20, ages 12 & up, $58
A factual insight into how a single event, individual, or sheer Providence can alter the course of such an important historical happening as a battle.  Each battle will be looked at in its historical context, influence on the course of war and overall impact on history itself, for both good or evil.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Doug Kuhn

Great American Leaders, 9:50, ages 12 & up, $58
This class will feature a look into the actual, incredible tales of great men and women who left us our special legacy here in America.  We will delve into how their character, God-given qualities and beliefs made them who they were and allowed them to impact history itself.  This course intends to teach the true stories that are often more fantastic than any tall tale could ever be.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Doug Kuhn

Institute for Excellence in Writing Level C, 2:00-3:30, 9 weeks, 7th-11th grade, $104 Learn stylistic techniques, key word outlining, note taking, grammar review, essay writing, business writing and ACT prep.  Students can earn 1/2 credit of high school composition.  Two books are needed: Student Writing Intensive Handouts C AND Student Writing Intensive Continuation Course Level C.  They can be purchased from the IEW Website.  Note:  No class 11/22 (production day) Instructor:  Debbye Rheker

The Write Shop I, 12:30-1:50, 9 weeks, 6th-10th grade, $104 (BYO book)
Students will learn descriptive, informative and narrative writing. They will focus on developing a strong topic sentence, body paragraph, closing sentence, and many stylistic techniques. Teen Ceramics, 10:50, ages 12 & up, $72 plus $12 supply fee
Students in this class will be guided in developing both sculptural and functional ceramic pieces while learning about clay and handbuilding techniques. Students will be offered projects that will allow them to explore the material while developing their own "voice" to put into their pieces.  Different pieces are learned each term, so new or returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Tracey Priska

Introduction to World Literature, 10:50, ages 12 & up, $58 plus $2 supply fee  
Students will overview famous works of classical literature from ancient civilizations through more modern times, reading excerpts and discussing plot, characters, and themes.  Instructor:  Lisa Rathbun

Greek and Roman Mythology, 9:50, ages 12 & up, $58 plus $2 supply fee
From Percy Jackson to the names of the days of the week, our culture is suffused with references to ancient mythology.  This class will expose students to these stories that still influence Western culture.  Instructor:  Lisa Rathbun

Chemistry for older Kids, 9:50, ages 11-14, $58 plus $15 supply fee
This class is a full middle school level Chemistry class.  It will include weekly reading assignments with questions to answer that students must complete at home before coming to class.  In class, we will briefly discuss the answers to the assignment questions as well as complete a hands-on lab that relates to the materials studied.  Instructor:  Tracy Mitton

Building More Structures, 12:20, ages 10-13, $58 plus $10 supply fee
Learn about building structures such as draw bridges, and then build some as a group.  Use materials like dowels, pipe cleaners, and cardboard to erect smaller models of some of these structures standing in the real world.  New and returning students welcome as structures change each term.  Instructor:  Jared Piro

Pinhole Photography, 12:20-1:45, 8 weeks, ages 10 & up, $48 plus $12 supply fee
Come learn the art of Pinhole Photography, discuss the process, and create your own camera out of refurbished and recycled materials.  Students will experience darkroom work, and the process of developing photographs before the digital age, and then develop real prints to take home.  Dark room chemicals are used to process film, if chemical sensitivities are acute, please let instructor know.  Student could still do remainder of classes and learn tons.  Note:  no photo class on 9/20 and 10/4.  Instructor: Shannon Morais

Computers, Logic Gates, 9:50, ages 10 & up, $58 + $5 supply fee
Logic gates are the building blocks for all computers.  In this class we will learn about and build gates, like AND, OR, NOT, and others, using basic electronic parts.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Jared Piro

Grow up healthy and strong with a lifelong love of working out, thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity!  Children will push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely, regardless of whether or not they play athletics.  During this program, the coach will educate your child on the importance of making their bodies powerful, enriching their minds, building strong character, creating rewarding experiences, and developing a sense of pride.  We require that kids wear tennis shoes for this program.  Parents welcome!  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Jeremey Ouellette

Chemistry for Kids, 10:50, ages 9-12, $58 plus $8 supply fee
In this class, students will learn most of the concepts of Chemistry in a simple, hands-on manner.  Students will have a short, optional reading assignment that they can complete at home each week before class on Friday.  In class, we will briefly review the assignment and then do hands on labs that demonstrates the topic.  Instructor:  Tracey Mitton

Geometry through Sewing, 1:30, ages 9 & up, $72 plus fabric purchase
Learn how to make custom fitted flat patterns using geometry.  Projects to be made are a circle skirt, pencil skirt, and flair (if time allows).  Required tools for this class:  Sewing machine that works, thread, pins, fabric scissors, measuring tape, and purchase of your own material (not by first week, will discuss types of fabrics first).  Instructor, Tessa Hawkes

Sing Out!  12:20, ages 8 and up, $58 plus $10
If you enjoy singing and dancing like Glee, American Idol, High School Musical, and The Sing-Off, then this class is for you.  We will learn to sing and dance while having a great time.  Even if you’ve never been in a show choir before, this class is for you!  This summer, Sing Out even performed in the 4H fair!  Students may have opportunities to sing at other local events in the community.  Come dressed for movement.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor: Gina Holben

Creative Photography, 10:50, 8 weeks, ages 8 & up, $48 plus $5 supply. BYO camera
Come learn some basic camera fundamentals of composition, including rule of thirds, artistic elements of lighting and creative perspectives.  It’s all about being creative.  Students will be assigned a photo project every week which we will discuss as a class together.  Required:  a working digital camera and 2 empty, clearly labeled SD cards brought to class weekly.  Basic editing will be taught using Picasa 3 and uploaded to a class page on the web every week.  Parental involvement may be required on assignments and downloading images to the web. New or returning students welcome.  Note:  no photo class on 9/20 and 10/4.  Instructor:  Shannon Morais

Greek Mythology Jr., 12:30-1:25, ages 8-12, $58 plus $5 supply fee
Who was Zeus?  What is a minotaur?  What does a chubby baby shooting people with arrows have to do with love?  This class will help answer some of those questions as students explore the mythology of Ancient Greece and Rome.  Learn greek myth in a fun way, including activities and crafts.  Instructor:  Lisa Rathbun

Group Piano Lesson, 10:50, ages 8 and up, $58 plus $8 supply fee (+optional CD is $10)
Ever wanted to learn to play the piano?  Learn in an easy, fun way with a group!  We will learn the letters on the piano, how to sit, hold your fingers, to read music, all while having a lot of fun!  No experience necessary.  If you have a portable keyboard to bring to class, that would be helpful, but not necessary.  Instructor: Gina Holben

Guitar, Group Lessons, 12:20, ages 8 & up, $72
A group guitar class including tuning, notation, chords, strumming patterns, and more!  Beginners and beyond are welcome.   Acoustic/electric reviewed.  Bring your own guitar, or recommendations for rental are available.  New and returning students always welcome.  Instructor:  Neal Wright

Hip Hop!  Intermediate and Up, 10:50, ages 8 & up, $72
Experience requested.  Let’s move!  An awesome class for all, with clean lyrics!  In hip-hop we will be focusing on the rhythm and the beat of the music, coordinating our movements to go with that beat, and incorporating other styles of dance.  Please wear comfortable fitting shorts/pants and t-shirts with clean tennis shoes or jazz shoes.  Instructor:  Jennifer Combs

Intermediate Chess Class, 12:20, ages 7-14, 9 weeks, $54 plus $10
If students have taken chess class with Alexander before, they should take this class.  We will review in order to assess how well students remember previous material, and then we will delve into complicated ideas such as opening theory, long forced checkmates, and combinations.  Chess sets and clocks provided.  Workbook is $10.  If students still have theirs from a previous session they do not need to purchase another.  Note:  No class 10/18.  Instructor: Alexander Deatrick, US Chess Expert

Beginner Chess Class, 1:35-2:20, ages 7-14, 9 weeks, $54 plus $10 workbook
Each class will involve playing chess with instructor giving advice, group instruction of chess tactics, and introduction of tournament rules.  Students will learn the proper use of a chess clock and how to record a chess game.   Homework of 15 minutes per week will be given.  Chess sets and clocks provided.  Appropriate for students who know how to play chess, but have never taken a class and for students who have never played before.  Note:  No class 10/18.  Instructor: Alexander Deatrick, US Chess Expert

Young Scientists, Rocks and Minerals, 12:20, ages 7-11, $58 plus $2 supply fee
Through lots of hands on activities we will learn about the three types of rock that make up the Earth’s Crust.  We will also learn about the rock cycle and the differences between rocks and minerals.  Instructor:  Rachel Mahrle

From Broadway to the movies, jazz can be found anywhere.  Come and learn some fun steps which will create awesome, full-length dances.  We will dance and get some energy out! Intermediate Tap, 10:50, ages 6 & up, $58
Children that have had at least one full year of Tap and are preparing to learn more complicated tap steps will enjoy this fast-paced class.  Tap dancing encourages rhythm, synchronization, precision, and teamwork.  Dress ready to dance, but no long bell bottomed pants or dresses/skirts that fall under the knee, please.  Long hair should be pulled back securely.  New and returning students welcome.  Tap shoes are required.  Instructor may have a pair you can borrow for the term.  Instructor:  Deanna Irwin

Youth Ceramics, 9:50, ages 6–11, $72 plus $12 supply fee
In this class students learn how to shape clay using basic handbuilding techniques. We will be exploring the use of slabs, coils and pinch pots to make both functional and sculptural pieces and allowing room for personal exploration & discovery.  New and returning students welcome.  Instructor:  Tracey Priska

Beginners and intermediate welcome!  We will devote thirds of the class time to tap, ballet, and modern dance. Students have the choice of wearing street clothes or dance attire. Spanish Enrichment, 10:50, ages 8-12, $58
Enrich your child with a foreign language spoken by more than 52 million people in the U.S. alone!  Students will learn in a fun, easy, and interesting way with visuals, games, books, etc.  Whether your child knows a little Spanish or a lot, they will enjoy this class.  Formerly from Guatemala, been here since 1996, a U.S. citizen, and giving back in the community by teaching others her mother tongue.  Her motto, “Learn a little, use it a lot,” will help students grow in their new Spanish language.  Instructor, Carolina Hood

Each week we will take an imaginary journey to a new planet and learn basic facts about it. During the 10 week course we will also be working on a model of the Solar System and booklet for your child to take home.   Instructor:  Rachel Mahrle

Learn how to read notes, play songs by ear, music theory, piano technique, and even create your own song!  Gina Holben has a Master’s Degree in Music Education and 15 years of experience teaching piano. Each week we will read and encompass a portion of "Meet Felicity" the American girl who grew up during the revolutionary time period.  We will make horn books as a class and learn about schooling during the time period, listen to music from the era and even study horses.  The final class will include a tea party using "tax-free" raspberry tea made popular after the Boston Tea Party.  Instructor:  Jo Anne Kroll

Folk Tales from Around the World, 12:20, ages 5-10, $58 plus $3 supply fee
Students will explore lively tales from at least ten different nations from Europe to Africa to Asia, followed by a craft or activity each week.  Instructor:  Lisa Rathbun

Baton Twirling, 1:30-2:25, ages 5 & up, $58 (BYO Baton)
This class will focus on the best of baton- routines!  We will learn the basics and work together as a class to combine them into fun and memorable routines, and perform a routine in the fall production.  This is a great way to have fun together as a team while learning a skill that can also be performed solo.  Batons required.  Instructor:  Jo Anne Kroll

We’ve Got the Beat! 9:50, ages 5-9, $58 plus $5 supply fee
Music, rhythm and fun combine together in this class! Students will sing, dance, play instruments, play games, and have a great time, all while learning the basics of music!  The material is new every semester, so feel free to sign your child up again and again! This class will perform for parents in a class or may perform at production.  Instructor: Gina Holben

Chemistry Fun! 1:30-2:25, ages 5-8, $58 plus $8 supply fee
In this class students will do fun, simple experiments that will get them excited about science and some of the chemical reactions that God designed to make our world work.  Instructor:  Tracy Mitton

Spanish Fun, 9:50, ages 5-9, $58
Enrich your child with a foreign language spoken by more than 52 million people in the U.S. alone!  Students will learn in a fun, easy, and interesting way with visuals, games, books, etc.  Whether your child knows a little Spanish or a lot, they will enjoy this class.  Formerly from Guatemala, here since 1996, a U.S. citizen, and giving back in the community by teaching others her mother tongue.  Her motto, “Learn a little, use it a lot,” will help students grow in their new Spanish language.  Instructor, Carolina Hood

My First Science Class, 12:20, ages 3-6, $58 plus $5 supply fee
Your child(ren) will have fun through discovery, in a science class designed just for them.  Students will discover more about their everyday world, using age-appropriate and safe items.  Instructor:  Roseanna Ondra

Tots Ballet, 1:20-1:50, ages 3-6, $72
Tots Ballet is an adorable class for young children who may or may not have experience in dance.  Ballet technique is the foundation for every style of dance; jazz, modern, ballroom, and even hip-hop!  Girls: Pink or black Leotard, Pink or white Tights, Ballet Shoes.  Boys: White T-Shirt, black light cotton pants (no sweats), ballet shoes.  All long hair pulled back securely in a ponytail or bun, please no hair in face.  Instructor:  Jennifer Combs

Cooking ART!  10:50, ages 3-6, $58 plus $15 supply fee
It’s back!  Edible art for young children!  We will use the book by the same name as this class as our guide.  Kids will create edible masterpieces.  Creating with food often entices children to be more adventurous and try new foods.  We will do just that in this class.  Our works of art will range from the healthy to the not so healthy, with a good balance of both.  Instructor:  Sonyia Pfeiffer

More Adventures in Literature, 10:50, ages 3–6, $58
Each week we'll enjoy the adventures of a classic children's book, and then enjoy activities that go along with our story.  We'll play games, create art projects and explore social studies, math and science concepts from the story.  Always a new subject, every term!  Instructor:  Amanda Gehrke

Tiny Tot Tap, 12:20, ages 3-6, $58
This fun class will give young children the feel of making music with their feet!  Children will learn several tap routines to fun rhymes and music, and will learn a performance danse for the production!  Street clothes or dance attire are both acceptable.  Long hair should be secured out of face.  Any color tap shoes are required, but instructor may have a pair your student can borrow for the term.  New and returning students welcome!  Instructor:  Deanna Irwin

Math ARTS!  9:50, Ages 3-6, $58 plus $10 supply fee
We will complete creative art experiences that encourage children's natural development of math concepts.  Using hands on activities, children will learn essential math skills of sorting, matching, counting, measuring, and much more.  Students will work as individuals, partners, and groups.  Instructor:  Sonyia Pfeiffer

Broadway Babies, 12:20, ages 3-5, $58
Combine music, dance and drama into one class.  We will sing songs, play with instruments and learn the basics of dance for theater.  In class we will act out Bible stories and songs to learn some of the basics of drama.  This class is for the youngest performer and will be adapted to meet the needs of the students in the class.  The primary goal is feeling comfortable on stage and having a great time.  Parents are welcome to attend with their children to make this class a great experience.  Instructor:  Jo Anne Kroll

French for Parents & Tots, 9:50, ages 2-6, $58 + $4 supply fee
New and Returning Students: Come learn in a full-immersion French class through a variety of proven methods to teach kids to understand, and ultimately speak, a new language.  These adventure-filled lessons incorporate storytelling, music, movement, art and dramatic play.  Basic grammar will also be introduced at the Elementary Level.  Instructor:  Roseanna Ondra
