8 weeks, unless noted in description of individual class.
* In case of inclement weather, please see Troy Schools for
closings. If they are closed for severe
weather, so are we, as our building is on their schedule of weather
closings. We are not, however, necessarily
closed on their schedule for days off or vacations.

Car
Maintenance 101, 1:30, ages 14
& up, 7 weeks, $51 plus $10 supply fee
Instructor: Doni Langdon
Many teens learn how to drive without knowing any basics about the
machine they are in control of. Let’s
change that statistic! This class will
give a basic overview of typical vehicle maintenance, including basic car
functions. An overview will include (but
is not limited to) changing a tire, checking fluids, understanding dash lights,
understanding brake systems, the engine sequence and interpreting car noises. Wear clothes you don’t mind
getting a bit grimy, and be prepared to go outdoors as well. Note:
no class on 9/30.
High
School Chemistry (Part 1), 12:20, ages 14–18, $51 plus $10 supply fee
Instructor: Tracy Mitton
In this class, high school
students will gain an understanding of chemistry from concepts like matter to acid/base
titrations and reactions. Students will
be required to read a passage as well as complete an assignment related to that
reading at home. In the class period, I will collect the assignments to mark
them and we will complete a lab or two related to what they have read. The home
work must be completed each week. There
will be two tests, which students will take home, complete, and return to me
the following week. Students will
require a 1.5 inch binder, note paper, pencils, and an eraser. They will need
these items each week for class.
Teen
Vocal, 1:30, ages 13-18,
7 weeks, $55
Instructor: David Moan
No matter if you are singing at
the MET or in the car, there is always something to learn about your voice.
This class will allow teens of all different skill levels to expand their vocal
abilities and fine tune their skills. We will use proper vocal technique
through group vocalizing, preparing solo pieces, as well as diving into an
understanding of Music Theory and Sight Singing. Note: no music class on
11/11, as David is in an opera performance.

Christian
Apologetics, 10:50, ages 13
& up, $51 (plus $10 supply fee if new student)
It is reasonable to believe what Christians
believe. This class will look at providing reasoned defenses of the Christian
faith. This is a survey course and will briefly consider topics such as
theology, philosophy, history, science, and public discourse. It is not meant
to definitively prove that the Christian faith is true, rather it is meant to
provide Christians with the proper tools to remove roadblocks for belief. Please bring paper and pen. New and returning students welcome. Instructor:

Come explore Improvisation and Theatre
with games and exercises for creating comedic and dramatic characters and
scripts. These free the actor's
imagination, build ensemble, and hone concentration and focus skills. New and returning students always

World History: The Rise of
Empire, 9:50, ages 12 & up, $51

What happened to ancient
civilizations like Egypt? Now fast forward to Rome, Greece, move over to
China, Europe, and the rise of the United States. Let’s learn about these time
periods through games and thinking exercises in this fast paced class.
Middle
School Chemistry (Part 1), 10:50, ages 11–13, $51 plus $10 supply fee
Instructor: Tracy Mitton
In this class, middle school
students will gain an understanding of basic chemistry from concepts like

Watercolor Art, 9:50, ages 8-18,

We will explore watercolor painting including wet
and dry techniques, washes, blends and use of transparency. We will have a main
painting that we will add to each week, and separate paintings that will be fun
and easy, all while exploring the transparency of watercolor painting.
Guitar, Group
Lessons, 9:50, or 12:20, ages
8 & up, $61, BYO Guitar

A group guitar class including
tuning, notation, chords, strumming patterns, and more! Beginners and beyond are welcome. Acoustic/electric reviewed. Bring your own guitar, or recommendations for
rental are available. New and returning
students always welcome. Note: this class is offered in two separate hours.
Ukulele
lessons! 10:50, ages 8 & up, $61, BYO Ukulele

Want to strum to a tune? A ukulele is a simple instrument to start
with, and what beautiful music it makes!
This group ukulele class includes tuning, notation, chords, strumming
patterns, and more! Beginners and beyond
are welcome. Bring your own

Fairytale
Theatre, 10:50, ages 8-15, $51 plus $5 supply fee
Instructor: Tessa Castillo
We can make fairytales come to
life in fairytale theatre! This is a fun way to transition into theatre, with
familiar stories many know. We'll go
through an audition process, assign everyone their roles, work on scenes,
create costumes and sets, and put on a show!
U.S.
Geography, 12:20, ages 8-12, $51

Kroll
Hop, skip and jump across the
United States of America, learning states and capitals en route. Each
student will investigate a state at home to present in class on week
seven. This gives him or her the opportunity to delve deeply into an area
your family plans to visit in the future or an area where you have relatives
living; your student may also choose Michigan and learn more about our home state.
Weekly homework assignments will be given.
Hip Hop,
Intermediate, 9:50, ages 10

lyrics by former E Hub student, now with the Detroit Pistons dance team and
teachers, Tyler Piro! Please wear

Cross
Fit Kids, 10:50, ages 8 &
up, $61
Instructor: Tyler Piro
Grow up healthy and strong with a
lifelong love of working out! Children
will push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely,
regardless of whether or not they play athletics. During this program, the coach will educate
your child on the importance of making their bodies powerful, enriching their
minds, building strong character, creating rewarding experiences, and
developing a sense of pride. We require
that kids wear tennis shoes for this program.

Jazz
Dance, 10:50, ages 8 &

A class structured for the
foundations of jazz technique to uptempo music. Students will learn how to
count music, dance to the rhythm, while learning technical jazz skills. Students wear comfortable active clothing
that you can easily move in, jazz shoes preferred.

expressive/broadway like manner. Upbeat

Pokemon Art - Illustration and Painting 12:20, ages 8 & up, $51 plus
$10 supply fee

Learn to illustrate and paint your favorite Pokemon
characters (or other characters) with this fun, illustration and
acrylic-on-canvas art class. You’ll choose your favorite characters (4
per student) and learn to illustrate them in pencil using the “Grid Method”.
This will give us a canvas with proportionate guides that we will use to create
our completed canvas painting. Not into Pokemon? Change it!

Medieval History, 1:30, ages 8-14,

Travel back in time with each lesson as we explore
the world of royalty, workers, and peasants of the medieval times and the
illnesses and wars they endured. With a new topic each week students will
acquire a vast knowledge of the world that used to be, and will come together
with their classmates to create a final project on the topic.

Chemistry is a huge part of our lives. It powers our cars, gives us energy, feeds
us. In this class students will learn

One of the best ways to foster the adolescent voice
is in a choral setting. This class will allow our students to continue (or
begin) to develop their own voice in the safety of a choral setting. Along with
learning the basics of singing (vocal production, harmony, etc), we will also
explore an introduction to music theory and sight reading to help prepare these
singers to become the soloists of tomorrow.

Learn food safety and kitchen
skills while making breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks with your
friends. Try new foods and share your favorites with the class.
This semester's theme is, "It's a wrap!" All kinds of new
things for returning students, PLUS, as always, pizza! Safety, hygiene
and responsibility go hand in hand with the food groups in this class.

Calling all princesses for a very
special princess class! This is your
chance to learn everything you need to know to be a true princess. Learn from Tessa, who plays many beautiful
princesses for Princess Parties, on stage for theatre, and more. From tea party manners to waltzing, this
class is sure to teach every child how to be true royalty!

Ballet, 12:20,

In this class students will learn
the Checchetti form of ballet. Ballet
can improve balance and endurance along with being a fun way to exercise. Dress ready to dance, leotards and tights are
recommended, but not required. Ballet

Create your own short stories by

Tiny Tots Tap 1:30, ages 3-8, $51
Instructor: Deanna Irwin
Tap dancing encourages rhythm, synchronization, precision, and
teamwork. Dress ready to dance, NO long
pants or dresses/skirts that fall under the knee, please. Long hair should be pulled back securely. New and returning students welcome. Tap shoes are required, but the instructor
may have a pair you can borrow for the term.
Music for Little Voices, 10:50, ages 3-6, 7 weeks, $55

An appreciation and understanding of music can and should be
started at an early age. This course gives our youngest students the
opportunity to dive into the world of music feet first, using everything from
nursery rhymes and simple songs to play and dance to help students build a
foundation to become life-long music lovers. We will primarily focus on
learning through voice and percussion.

Painting

Stories
and Recipe Making, 1:30, ages 3-7,

Each week we will read a story
together and make a corresponding recipe. Have you heard about Joseph and
the many colored fruit smoothie? We will explore reading a recipe,
following directions and measuring, while making age appropriate non-cooking snacks
to enjoy together.
Adventures
in Arts & Crafts! 9:50, ages

Instructor: Amanda Gehrke
From the amazing Adventures in Literature instructor comes a new
arts & crafts class! We will work on
a fun new craft every week using many different mediums. Come ready to get a bit crafty! Rolling up your sleeves and bringing one of
your dad’s old t-shirts to wear is a great cover up idea. New and returning students welcome.
Adventures

Each week we'll enjoy the
adventures of a classic children's book, and then enjoy activities that go
along with our story. We'll play games, create art projects
and explore social studies, math and science concepts from the story. Always a new subject, every term!
Broadway

Come sing and dance and act with
us as we learn beginning performance skills. We will laugh and make music
while finding out, "What's in the Big Red Barn?" We will use
our imaginations and unique talents to make a scarf become a hat, or a
superhero cape, or even a block of cheese.
Join each
other in community!
Lunch
room available from 11:45-12:15. Students can enjoy lunch in the
designated areas, and clean up their surroundings before heading back to
class. Parents help is needed to make
this happen.
Parent/Tot
Room, available to all, from 9:50-1:10! This is
NOT a drop off room. Children are not to
be left unattended in this room, they are to be watched by their parent. Remember to clean up after your family, and
leave the room as nice as or better than you found it. This is a good time for getting to know each
other.
